Arthdal Chronicles (Hangul: 아스달 연대기; RR: Aseudal Yeondaegi) is an upcoming South Korean television series directed by Kim Won-seok and written by Kim Young-hyun; starring Song Joong-ki, Jang Dong-gun, Kim Ji-won and Kim Ok-vin. It is set to premiere on June 1, 2019 on tvN and Netflix.

A cursed child born in Blue Stone Village under an ominous sign. He later becomes conqueror of Asdal, taking it from city-state to empire.
Jang Dong-gun as Ta-gon

A war hero among the Saenyeok Tribe and master of strategy. He is ambitious and aims to become the first King of Asdal.
Kim Ji-won as Tan-ya
Heo Jung-eun as young Tan-ya
A woman born under a cursed sign and who overcomes adversity to become the first female politician of Asdal. She is Eun-seom’s first love and the woman Ta-gon loves.
Kim Ok-vin as Tae Al-ha
The last surviving Noeantal, a race different from humans, as well as the first Empress of Asdal.
The cast and crew attended a workshop in Yangju, Gyeonggi-do, on August 21, 2018.
The first script read was held on August 26, 2018.
Filming officially started on December 5, 2018 with the opening ceremony of the set, whose construction took place for eight months.
The drama will serve as a reunion project for Song Joong-ki and Kim Ji-won who both starred in the 2016 hit drama Descendants of the Sun.
The drama was filmed overseas in Brunei. Song Joong-ki went first on February 24, 2019.
